After a great deal of planning and preparation, Urban Street Angels and 8 West successfully launched its mentorship program for homeless youth participating in our supportive housing and transitional employment program on June 25, 2017!
The mentorship program aims to pair each of the transitional-age youth in our supportive housing and transitional employment program with a member of the business or social services community who will assist them in reaching their goals in the program (and beyond). We launched with five (5) mentors, and we’re seeking up to seven (7) more at this time.
The launch event involved bringing together the mentors and the homeless youth in our program, and establishing a framework for successful collaboration in meeting the goals in this new program. We’re very excited to bring this part of our program to life, and we welcome any interested parties who might be interested in mentoring to contact us at info@8west.org with any questions or community feedback.
